Characters, we all are in some kind of a drama based on some timeline with various themes intertwined into one big movie with some unnecessary flashbacks and some quite shocking forwards(a look at the future). We all have roles to play, some in which we are good and bad extending to miserable in some cases. Theatre is an art, some are gifted and and some are not. But most of them are, but not in everything, if one is proficient in one role, there will be another one i which he/she would fail.
One becomes an underdog if he/she understands these shortcomings and does nothing about it. And a favourite is made when he atleast tries. This anyway is an insider's perspective, so does not make a difference to the overall outlook of the person. Or does it? Confidence, body language, blah blah....
Judgements, some critical and some minute are ones which makes one an underdog or a favourite. If only, these were in ones own hand, it would have been a lot easier. History might also help these judgements being made.Pressure is the only thing here which is a resultant of these judgements. Some of us deal with all this pressure well and some of us do not. Pressure is felt by both kinds anyway, so not much difference finally. But its definately a test of character; a test to go on, a test of perseverance, a test of the various facets of the human mind

The local and the Global
Problems(challenges, in the corporate language) are often classified as personal problems and the group problems, a group here can be an organization, a nation, the world etc..
Some personal problems(local here) can be extended to the problems which are beyond the group problems and some don't even form a part of a thousandth . Generally the differences between the two go unnoticed!! Problems in hindsight gives people either a sense of achievement, or a gives them lessons for the present and also the future...
Global problems, with a lot of parameters, people and with a lot at stake(failures and success easily noticed) generally remain global; problems are easily solved when it percolates to the 'person'(call them people!!). A global problem can(should) become a personal problem and results either with the problem getting solved or creates more complex problems... Understanding becomes an issue when the personal problem of only a few, who might be right or wrong. But then again what the majority says or what ideas they share need not be right, but who can question them? Here majority might be in terms of the number or by the position.
Localization is reality and Globalization a myth but the magnitude of the problems remain the same!!

On and off
People complain on and on that I crib, so I went a bit off track to write something on the lighter side of my thought...
But what to write was the question, confusion prevailed, so I decided to write something on confusion. But did not know when best i can write on confusion, is it when my mind's switch is on or when its off, was in itself a confusion. Time was a problem, the off time was very less, so in that case I could not even write, and even if I did, what would that be like... So, I picked up my time when am deep into something, so it would be like a simulation of my mind going off(engineer, old habits die hard).
Once i started of, it was smooth sailing, writing arbitrary stuff and not worrying too much what goes here. A wrong statement here and there would not matter!!
The more I wrote, the more I felt elated on my new found skill, to talk nonsense!!
The computer on,
Mind wandering off,
Here I am writing,
I shout, I sing,
But wait, most of this does make sense,
Eyesight less, the fog so dense,
Am back on,
Seeing clearer, everything you do(learn) is a new dawn!!!
VD
P.S: Arbitrary stuff, Kindly handle with care!!!

Rural and the Urban
Aye dil hain mushkil hain jeena yahan, zara hatake, zara bachke eh hain mumbai meri jaan!!!!
A few years back when the Hindi film industry was still in Black and White, sang these words about a city Mumbai... Now the number of cities is on the rise and also its culture taking some drastic changes(in some cases violent) . A city, with its malls, the multiplexes, the crowded local trains, buses, the frenzy people with phones plugged to their ears, the crazily full restaurants, the traffic- a fight for space and time, is dynamic to say the least. Change is a part of everyday life. A new neighbour, a new boss, a new time, a new cuisine, new music, new attires; all these switching back and forth at times... Uncertainty at its best(hmmm...)
The counterpart of the city, the village is rather serene and quiet place. Change is at a snail's pace (or is it)... The silence, the only temple, the tv(other medias too!!) being an opening to the world, the people who knows history of each other(all), the 6 month old movie at a local cinema tent, monsoon, summer, winter, days, nights etc...
What does one like? The bustling city or the quiet village... What is important? The uncertain metro or a more certain village(and again!!).... What is the future??????
To run a distance, we need legs, both of them.. To run better, we need eyes and the ears.. To run faster, we need we need hands.. To run the right way, we need the brain.. To run, we got to make the choice, to run or not to...

Old and the New
"History, naah its boring" is what we hear from the generation of the future, every single time someone looks at the future generation. Many times when in a idle state of mind or just when someone is not in a good frame of mind, people stumble upon questions like What I am, Why do I do what I do etc.Though the questions seem rather obscure or many times irrelevant those are questions which we need to find answers for(hard to say sense or nonsense).
All said and done, why we don't we try to find something which is old?? Its the problem of how its transferred to the future. Families which have maintained their sense of history , have passed on valuable information about their forefathers to the future generations. This is where many fail, giving the critical, lop-sided images of the past which kills the interest of generations to come. Schools which gives history in a dates and loads of information makes a mockery to the essence of history(thinking, information through reading and judgement). Zombies are made, taking a path neither wide nor long, traversed not for a long time...
Why history? We can say the cliched ' for valuable lessons', but we do know(optimistic) its much more than that. A deeper insight into science, religion, spirtuality, art etc begins with history and there lies the future!!
Recently when i went on and on complaining and cribbing about all of this, someone said to me, 'look, the general consciousness about all of this and much more in the present generation is on the rise'. Hope its correct(it has to happen at some time, thats what history has taught us!!!)
Lets wait and see, the old wine in the new bottle or new wine in the old one!!!

Right and Wrong
'I am way to fast while I drive', say some and I to an extent agree...
Recently while driving through a residential area, I passed through a junction, not very busy. I was quite happy driving through this road to my office early in the morning with hardly any traffic around. BANG! I hit a scooter(Activa), thankfully not hard enough and also most importantly not driven by a man!! It was being driven by a girl about my age accompanied by a friend I presumed... My mistake, it was, not braking at the right time... They stopped, I felt like shouting asking her to drive correctly and to pay more attention, all set to argue. The next thing I noticed was her accelerating and even I as was preparing my words, I noticed her turning right and soon vanished... I stood there for a while and drove off, a lot slower though!
Finding some parking space in Bangalore is quite a pain that too on a weekend.. It was another weekend, bored at home, picked up my phone called a few friends and soon was driving to meet them. The time I drove, I took the same time to park the vehicle.. Soon I was at a restaurant sipping a hot cup of coffee. Out of the restaurant I bid my friends farewell and was at the parking lot, when I noticed that a owner of the bike next to mine had just hit my bike with his accidently while get his bike out of the parking space. Though the impact was not much I noticed a few scratches on my bike.. Immediatly I asked Mr. XXX to give an explaination.. He grew red with anger and started advising me parking skills and how wrong i was... Shcoked as I was, went away not wanting any more trouble!! He murmured some words in some language I did not understand till I drove off...
In both cases I drove off... Two different people had reacted very different ways...
I concluded that the female factor and the strength factor were the reasons for the above reactions... Not that I was weak or the girl was, but it was something else that stopped both of us!!! What made us say nothing were two different reasons!

learning and ignorance
Ignorance is bliss.
If the above statement is true then what is learning? What is the need to learn and what to learn? Is it the survival skills or the something more meaningful than that(tried to find something else to write here, but in vain). If its the survival skills, we are no different the other animals(animals learn those skills much faster). Then what should we learn?
Now the other side.. How do we remain ignorant? Can we be totally ignorant? Seems almost impossible to me, with so much dynamicity in the environment we live in. So, does that mean we can never get to bliss:(
Experience is definately learning which makes us less ignorant(or does it). Is books, media etc, a way of learning or a another thread to remain ignorant.
Is learning ignorance??(now i have crossed the line, pundits have agreed, it must be true, opposites then!!!)
Learning makes one learned about something and also ignorant about something else. Its a trade-off one has to make when one starts learning(as if there is a choice),atleast in this kind of an age wherein there is so much information.
So learn as much as one can to become more ignorant, which is bliss, assuming that ignorance is bliss!!

Failure and Success
Moral Science says, failure is the stepping stone to success. Many possess the zeal to succeed, some do even after they fail. Most just wear off as just another 'tried hard, no luck' into some distant memories of the men or women who could not continue their journey to the summit of their 'passion' for something which they start of with. They quit once they fail, years pass on going through bouts of introspection and satisfaction of doing the 'right thing'; a minute percentage of them take the original path again after taking a detour, with a sense of familiarity with the way the world works... people do reach 'there' and feel the jubilation of being successful... Most of us give newer meanings to being victorious(successful).
"The real world is a hard place to live in where competition is suffocating", the teachers and the parents tell their kids. As a metaphor, when Frodo was carrying the ring to destroy it, unable to bear the pains of carrying it, succumbing to pressure of the evil, The Dark Lord; wanting to give up the quest of destroying it, complains to his friend and accomplice Sam that there was so much bad things in the world, which is not worth fighting for . Sam replies saying 'lets not fight for the bad, lets fight for whatever good is left in the world'. Frodo had Sam, hope some of us get the Sam or be Sam to a Frodo(The Lord of the Rings). This is what makes a success.... Even a person knocking at failure's door will taste the sweetness of success....
There is no success like failure, but failure is no success at all. - Anonymous.

Pessimists and the optimists
Day 0:I will update my blog everyday!!!
Day 2:Am really updating it, not failed till now!!
Day 5: God am I tired today, 1 day no blogging, surely no sin!
Day 10: NO!!! am a soul who cannot do something for a long time, forget it, am not upto it:(
Day25: Password???
Day 51: MY NEW BLOG!!!!
A variety of emotions, some kindled by hope and some with the attitude of a short lived grief, but with a long term effect. If a blog can generate such a huge change in emotions, just like the seasons, imagine getting struck in some Pacific ocean(Pi Patel in Life of Pi) or someone 'innocent' who has been in prison(The Shawshank Redemption).
The two opposites(literary sense) are not so different, these two emotions, like many others can be errors in human judgement or the vision of the future(intution??).
There is no eternal optimist, there has to be a certain sense of pessimism at some point in time in him/her(to make them more human:)). We have to go through a sense of feeling low, move over to felling too good about oneself, or lie somewhere in between(ideal and practical??) to see both sides of the coin, rather the periphery...
The world of difference between the two emotions is a mere excited state of the human mind, which can be ephemeral or long lasting depending on various factors which include the most minute to the very large of happenings in one's life...
Eg:Hope to see you soon and write something interesting:)
